A new journal page from my class yesterday. Yes, I was teaching but I have decided to do my student's work assignments as a way of continuing to teach myself. The class went really well and I had positive feedback from my 2 wonderful students. Their first journal page assignment, in their brand spanking new journals, was to use the word "begin" on the first page of their journal. There was a lot of discussion about journaling and an ample amount of time to play around with various art supplies before they dove in - facing down the white page. Just begin. It really can be that simple. And so they did - their pages turning out beautiful and original. I had fun playing with this idea as well. We all began. Again.
Gorgeous. Journaling is a challenge. Getting out of our own ways is the biggest one!
Your students are lucky. Rock on!

What a great project for students. I'm sure they had alot of fun. You know, before I started blogging I had no idea that art journaling was so big. And lo and behold, there are so many inspiring art journals out there. It's certainly affected how I create.
